2018 Congressional Art Competition
Description: This is an annual competition open to all high school aged students, age 14–18, who live in Colorado’s 5th Congressional District. Artwork is exhibited at the Pikes Peak Library 21c during the month of March. The library is located at 1175 Chapel Hills Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80920. The grand prize winner’s art will be displayed for one year in the hallway between the Cannon House Office Building and the Capitol.

Rules:
This competition is open to high school aged students (grades 9-12, age 14-18) from high schools or home schooled students who reside within the 5th Congressional District of Colorado. One art entry per student please. Each school may submit 10 entries (if you have more than 10, please contact Ms. Tapia to inquire as to space availability). Artwork must be two-dimensional, not larger than 26 inches by 26 inches when framed, no more than 4 inches deep, no more than 15 lbs. in weight and must have a horizontal wire in place so that it may hang from a center point from behind the artwork. Each entry must be an original concept: The entry may not be a reproduction of an image from a third party’s work in the same or any other medium; the work may not infringe upon the rights of any third party; the work may not violate the U.S. Copyright Laws.
Because the entire weight of the art piece will be hung from a center point, framed or matted art must have a sturdy hanging mechanism such as a wire strongly affixed to the back of the piece.
If the artwork is abstract in design, please indicate on the back which side is up with arrows.
All entries submitted must have the following information written clearly on the back of the piece:
