Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO), who a year ago signed onto a bipartisan letter emphasizing the importance of a U.S. security coordinator position for preserving security and stability between the Israel and the Palestinian security forces, told JI that he he does not see the PA or its security forces as a real solution to terrorism in the West Bank at this point. “Their turning a blind eye to the effects of their policies is what’s led to a lot of the radicalization,” Lamborn said of the Palestinian Authority. “They’re basically not doing anything to stop radicalization.

Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colo., who spearheaded the letter, told Fox News Digital, "The Iranian regime's attempts to spread malign influence in the United States in multiple Shi’a mosques and cultural centers across the country has been happening for years. These state-sponsored mosques preach hatred toward anyone who disagrees with the Iranian regime and go as far as to praise the ayatollah's repressive reign through songs and shrines. It is imperative that the U.S. government understand and respond to the threat posed by state-sponsored terrorism wherever it appears, whether in the Middle East or at home."

Likewise, Republican Rep. Doug Lamborn, who chairs the House Armed Services strategic forces subcommittee, commended Biden’s decision. “This decision aligns with the best military advice of countless senior military leaders who all agree that Peterson Space Force Base is the most viable option for USSPACECOM to reach full operational capability the fastest and is the best permanent home for its long-term operations,” Lamborn said.

Colorado Republican Representative Doug Lamborn said international tensions are too critical to allow the move to Huntsville. "Russia and China are doing some really sobering things in space,” Lamborn said. “Not just our economy, but our military is dependent on space. And so we can't take any chances. We can't allow for unnecessary delays, which is what moving to another state would've resulted in."

Rep. Doug Lamborn, a Republican from Colorado and chair of the House Armed Services subcommittee on strategic forces, hailed Biden’s decision to keep Space Command headquarters at Peterson Space Force Base, calling it “the most viable option” and the “best permanent home” for the military’s newest combatant command. “We live in dangerous times and we do not have the luxury of starting over with the headquarters in another location,” said Lamborn in a statement Monday. “National security is too critical to allow for any delays.”

"We live in dangerous times and we do not have the luxury of starting over with the headquarters in another location. National security is too critical to allow for any delays. "China and Russia are developing their space capabilities at a rapid pace. It is essential that Space Command be best positioned to deter those threats today and in the near future. It is undeniable that this will be best done where the mission is taking place now and always has been, in Colorado Springs. "... This is a win for the Pikes Peak region and the state of Colorado that further solidifies our status as the preeminent location for military space operations."

Lamborn says the legislation not only will sustain the wing and Buckley but will also protect numerous jobs associated with the wing that, in turn, support the North American Aerospace Defense Command headquartered at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs.

"Each year, I get more entrenched, more capable of getting language into the bill," Lamborn said. While the committee is one of the most bipartisan panels in the U.S. House, Lamborn added that members' ability to influence the resulting legislation varies, depending on whether they're in the majority or minority. "But this year, being a chairman of a major subcommittee, I've had the most influence I've ever had," Lamborn said.
