Following trips to Israel, lawmakers question future of U.S. security coordination with Palestinians

Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO), who a year ago signed onto a bipartisan letter emphasizing the importance of a U.S. security coordinator position for preserving security and stability between the Israel and the Palestinian security forces, told JI that he he does not see the PA or its security forces as a real solution to terrorism in the West Bank at this point.
“Their turning a blind eye to the effects of their policies is what’s led to a lot of the radicalization,” Lamborn said of the Palestinian Authority. “They’re basically not doing anything to stop radicalization.

These state-sponsored mosques preach hatred toward anyone who disagrees with the Iranian regime and go as far as to praise the ayatollah's repressive reign through songs and shrines. It is imperative that the U.S. government understand and respond to the threat posed by state-sponsored terrorism wherever it appears, whether in the Middle East or at home."

“This decision aligns with the best military advice of countless senior military leaders who all agree that Peterson Space Force Base is the most viable option for USSPACECOM to reach full operational capability the fastest and is the best permanent home for its long-term operations,” Lamborn said.

Colorado Republican Representative Doug Lamborn said international tensions are too critical to allow the move to Huntsville.
"Russia and China are doing some really sobering things in space,” Lamborn said. “Not just our economy, but our military is dependent on space. And so we can't take any chances. We can't allow for unnecessary delays, which is what moving to another state would've resulted in."

"Each year, I get more entrenched, more capable of getting language into the bill," Lamborn said.
While the committee is one of the most bipartisan panels in the U.S. House, Lamborn added that members' ability to influence the resulting legislation varies, depending on whether they're in the majority or minority.
"But this year, being a chairman of a major subcommittee, I've had the most influence I've ever had," Lamborn said.
