Today the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness held a hearing on privatized military housing. The military housing privatization initiative began as a public-private venture (PPV) in 1996.
Congressman Lamborn, Ranking Member on the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness released the following statement:
"With almost 48,000 military personnel in my district, I have been deeply troubled by the lack of oversight in the military housing program. My sincere hope is that the attention that military family housing has received over the last year will serve as a wake-up call to both the military services and to the private housing partners. We must work to improve the overall program and establish a higher quality of life for our military. Our military families deserve better."
