Washington

Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) today announced the launch of his new official Congressional Facebook page and released the following statement.

"I am happy to announce the launch of my Congressional Facebook page. I look forward to personally updating this page with notes, such as the first note I wrote last evening from the floor of the United States House of Representatives during the Presidential address.

"It is my priority and responsibility to keep the constituents informed of the happenings in Washington. Facebook is providing an addition avenue to accomplish this. For example, by posting committee meetings and upcoming media appearances on the ‘events’ option, I can easily inform constituents when they can expect to hear from me in the news and what committees are active that day.

"This not only gives constituents a different way to see how I am working for them, but promotes transparency, which is vital to preserving our democracy.

"I look forward to updating my ‘page’ and my constituents in this new-media way."-Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)

Barack Obama gives a good speech, but it is distressingly short of specifics…"
