Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Farm Bureau presented Congressman Doug Lamborn with its Friend of Farm Bureau Award, recognizing him for his contributions to Colorado agriculture, on Tuesday, October 1st, at his district office in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This prestigious award is given at the end of each Congress to members actively working to support agriculture and rural Colorado.

Congressman Lamborn made the following statement upon receiving the award:

"I am honored to accept this award on behalf of all of the farmers and ranchers in our district. Our farmers and ranchers make up the backbone of our economy and provide much needed resources. I will always work to ensure our agricultural industry remains strong and robust and free of Washington bureaucratic control."

Gary Paul, Colorado State Farm Bureau Board Member representing District 6 (Elbert, Douglas, and El Paso Counties), presented the award to Congressman Lamborn and stated:

"Colorado farmers and ranchers have struggled with low commodity prices, water issues, and natural disasters such as wildfires. The Friend of Farm Bureau award goes to policy leaders who understand how difficult it has been to grow much-needed products such as food and grains in this environment.

The Colorado Farm Bureau is very thankful for Congressman Lamborn's work that supports agriculture and Colorado's farm and ranch families. We are proud to award the Friend of Farm Bureau Award to Congressman Doug Lamborn for representing Colorado farm and ranch families in Congress."

The Friend of Farm Bureau award is given every Congress to members who support Farm Bureau policy, and agriculture interests as a whole. Colorado Farm Bureau and its member families are very proud to work with each award recipient and are extremely pleased to award them this honor for their continued support of one of ours states oldest and largest industries.
