Press Release

Washington, D.C. – The American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF) released its 50th Annual Federal Rating of Congress. It announced that Congressman Doug Lamborn is among the recipients of ACUF's Award for Conservative Excellence. In the second session of the 116th Congress, Congressman Lamborn earned 96% for the 2020 session and carried an average over his thirteen years in Congress of 96.57%.

"It is an honor to represent voters in Colorado's Fifth Congressional District and fight on their behalf with principled, conservative action," said Congressman Doug Lamborn. "When it comes to defending the timeless principles of our nation's founding- the 2nd Amendment, fiscal responsibility, federalism, and religious freedom, I have not and will never waiver. I will continue to fight for conservative principles, traditional American values, and curbing Washington's wasteful spending habits."

"Congressman Doug Lamborn is a 14-time winner of our top award because he believes in conservative solutions and fights for them on the floor of the U.S. House," said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. "We are proud to recognize him for another outstanding voting record representing the people of Colorado."

The ACUF's Center for Legislative Accountability researches and selects a range of bills to evaluate a member's adherence to conservative principles. They select legislation that focuses on President Ronald Reagan's philosophy of the "three-legged stool":

 1. Fiscal and economical: taxes, budgets, regulation, spending, healthcare, and property

 2. Social and cultural: Second Amendment, religion, life, welfare, and education

 3. National security: preserving our nation's security by maintaining a strong national defense

The wide range of issues covered gives citizens an accurate assessment of how Members of Congress view the role of government in an individual's life.

ACUF is the sister organization of the American Conservative Union, the nation's original conservative organization. For more than fifty years, the ACUF has educated and activated the conservative movement through its rating programs, policy centers, and educational events.
