Congressman Lamborn Supports National Guard

May 22, 2020

Washington, D.C. – Congressmen Lamborn and Crow along with Senators Gardner and Bennet led a letter to President Trump, Secretary Esper, and FEMA Administrator Peter T. Gaynor. The letter raises a number of issues that impact our National Guard, such as federal status, healthcare, leave, retirement benefits, and the GI Bill. Thousands of National Guard personnel are employed across the country to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The National Guard has been critical in executing Colorado's pandemic response efforts and I am thankful for their tireless work. They have been key in providing support for our prisons, drive-in testing clinics, logistics, and the distribution of supplies throughout this crisis. As our National Guard neighbors have taken care of us, we must make sure that we take care of them--ensuring they receive the benefits they have earned. I was pleased to join my Colorado colleagues, Senator Gardner, Senate Bennet, and Representative Crow, and dozens of other Members and Senators in support of this important issue."
