Congressman Lamborn Views Evidence of Iranian Weapon Proliferation

December 14, 2018

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Lamborn led a Congressional Delegation to the Iranian Material Display at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling with Congressman Joe Wilson and Congressman Doug LaMalfa. The Iranian Material Display is a collection of Iranian-made weapons found in battlefields across the region, supplied to terrorist groups by the Iranian regime in violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2231.

"The Iranian Material Display at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling is vital proof of Iran's ongoing malicious and destabilizing strategy in the Middle East. Despite the fact that President Obama and his administration bent over backwards to accommodate the regime in Tehran, access to international markets only increased their support for terrorism abroad. Rather than spending new revenue on the Iranian people, the Ayatollahs squandered the wealth on fueling war throughout the region, leading to death and human misery from Syria to Afghanistan. The Iranian people know this, which is why protests have been continuing for a year now. They feature chants such as 'Not Gaza, Not Lebanon, I Give My Life for Iran.' This collection of weapons is incontrovertible proof of what many of us have been warning for years. I will continue doing everything I can to counter Iranian aggression, whether its financial sanctions, providing our troops with the best equipment, or helping to strengthen our allies."
