Washington, D.C.- Today the White House released its budget for fiscal year 2021. The President’s budget proposal would lead to a balanced budget in 15 years.

  •  The Budget requests $740.5 billion for national defense
  • $18 Billion for space domain
  •  $106 Billion for research and development
  •  Adds additional funding for the border wall
  • Reduce deficit by 4.6 trillion over the next decade
  • Cut foreign aid by 21%
  • Invests $5 billion in combating the opioid epidemic

Congressman Lamborn released the following statement regarding the budget proposal:

“Today, President Trump took another crucial step to curtail the out of control spending occurring in Washington. The President's proposed budget cuts wasteful and unnecessary spending and would balance the budget over the next 15 years. However, we must continue to focus on rebuilding our military and strengthening our national defense. The Department of Defense and our military leaders are focusing on reforms and redirecting resources to better accomplish the National Defense Strategy. Last year, House Democrats never even proposed a budget of their own. This year, we must overcome partisan agendas and come to the table for meaningful negotiations. We cannot afford to pass a continuing resolution. Instead, we must do our duty and fully fund the government in a responsible manner.”
