Press Release

The House of Representatives passed H.R. 695, Department of Defense Appropriations Act 2018 on Tuesday. The appropriations provides funding for warfighters and their families and modernization and training to keep the armed forces on the cutting edge of defense technology. The appropriations also includes additional funding for President Trump's South Asia strategy. Representative Doug Lamborn (CO-05) issued the following statement after the vote:

"The U.S. military is the most formidable, impressive force in the world. It would be nothing if it weren't for the countless service members who've dedicated their careers and -- for many their lives -- to serving our country by protecting it from threats. That's why I voted yes to fund our military. This will equip them to advance our interests around the globe."

"With this vote, the House has now sent the Senate a military funding bill three times. I'm calling on Senate Democrats to play their part in helping our men and women in uniform by providing them with the resources they need. Continuing to bounce a bill this essential back over to the House is irresponsible. I'll keep advocating for the military in our country by insisting the Senate pass this bill
."
