End Sanctuary Cities to Make America Safe Again

June 29, 2017
Press Release

Congressman Lamborn has released the following comment in response to the passage of H.R. 3003, the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act, and H.R. 3004, Kate's Law:

"These bills stand as a memorial for three individuals whose lives were cut short due to the criminal actions of illegal immigrants. Sarah Root, Kate Steinle, and Grant Ronnebeck were all victims of crimes that could have been prevented through better enforcement of our nation's immigration laws.

I am pleased to cosponsor H.R. 3004, which increases penalties for deported felons who return to the U.S. This bill will protect innocent people and send a message to criminals that their acts of violence against American citizens will not be tolerated. I also supported H.R. 3003, which withholds funds from cities who refuse to abide by federal immigration laws.

We owe it to the memory of these and other victims to enforce our nation's laws and protect our communities from dangerous individuals."
