Citizens group honors Congressman Lamborn for fighting government waste

Washington, D.C. - The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste awarded Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) with the "Taxpayer Heroes Award." Lamborn earned the highest score in the Colorado delegation.

Congressman Lamborn released the following statement regarding his award:

"I thank Citizens Against Government Waste for their work on behalf of American taxpayers. They share my commitment to eliminating government waste, reducing the size and scope of government and to keeping government out of our wallets. Congressman Lamborn received a 98% on the 2007 Congressional Ratings that cover the 2007 voting year. Congressmen scoring between 80 and 99 percent are honored with the Taxpayer Heroes Award.

Rated by roll-call votes, House votes included 50 amendments related to pork-barrel spending in appropriations and authorizing bills. House Republicans received an average of 60% while House Democrats averaged 5%.
