Lamborn Helps to Secure Priority COVID-19 Testing Status for First Responders

April 29, 2020
Press Release

Washington, D.C.- Congressman Lamborn joined 33 members of Congress in sending a letter to Vice President Mike Pence and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield, urging first responders be added to the "high priority" list for COVID-19 testing.
“It is crucial that our firefighters, police officers, and first responders receive testing for the coronavirus so that they may continue to serve our communities and keep us safe. In Colorado, wildfire season is rapidly approaching, and our firefighters must remain healthy and able to execute their duties. I am grateful that the Trump administration and the CDC recognize the importance of our first line responders and have designated them for high priority testing.”
First responders who show symptoms of COVID-19 are now eligible for high-priority testing, joining hospitalized patients, healthcare workers, and workers and residents in congregated facilities or long-term care facilities.
