Press Release

Washington, D.C.- Congressman Lamborn was recognized as a “Notable Leader” by 21Wilberforce, a Christian human rights organization dedicated to defending universal rights of religion, belief, and conscience. This award was only given to 39 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, and recognizes Congressman Lamborn’s extensive record protecting religious freedom around the globe. This non-partisan recognition is awarded to those who have championed international religious freedom in tangible ways and encourages other legislators to take bolder actions supporting freedom of religion or belief worldwide. Congressman Lamborn was the only member of the Colorado delegation to receive this award.

"It is an honor to be recognized by 21Wilberforce as a “Notable Leader” for the 116th Congress. Under the Biden Administration it will be critical that we continue to prioritize religious freedom and ensure the conscience rights of Americans are protected," said Congressman Doug Lamborn. "I will continue defending those who are unfairly persecuted and targeted for exercising their First Amendment Rights."

"International religious freedom is a key element of an open and stable civil society, and U.S. government involvement is under the framework of foreign policy," said Dr. Randel Everett, President, 21Wilberforce. "The International Religious Freedom Congressional Scorecard, published by 21Wilberforce, was created to raise awareness and encourage bolder engagement on IRF issues. We are grateful for the work done by Congressman Lamborn in championing international religious freedom in tangible ways."

Congressman Doug Lamborn serves as a co-chair for the House Values Action Team Caucus (VAT) for the 117th Congress. The Values Action Team is a group dedicated to protecting religious freedom, the sanctity of life, and traditional family values. Congressman Lamborn has served as a VAT member during his entire tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives.
