Lamborn Supports Choice Reauthorization

April 5, 2017

Today, the House of Representatives passed S. 544 to eliminate the sunset of the Choice Act. Congressman Lamborn issued the following statement regarding this legislation:

"I am voting today to extend the Choice Act that will continue to give veterans more flexibility with their healthcare benefits. However, the Choice Act was never intended to be a permanent solution to the problems that plague the VA. Even with this bill in place, many veterans are restricted by red tape and still wait too long to get the healthcare they deserve.

We need a comprehensive, strategic reform agenda to realign the VA's priorities and give high-quality care to all veterans. I am pleased to work with Chairman McMorris-Rogers on the Caring for Our Heroes in the 21st Century Act, and I will continue to push my colleagues to enact stronger reforms on behalf of our veterans."

- Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
