Lamborn Supports H.J.Res. 43
Congressman Doug Lamborn released the following statement after his vote in support of House Joint Resolution 43:
"In December of 2016, the Obama Administration implemented a rule prohibiting states from preventing abortion providers from receiving federal funding. This midnight dictate was a brazen effort by the Obama Administration to force states to fund entities like Planned Parenthood. It was a blatant violation of former President Obama's promise that Obamacare wouldn't require the funding of abortions, a promise that was vital in passing Obamacare originally.
Before this last-minute action, state governments were permitted to control their federal Title X funds to direct money to healthcare providers that do not conduct abortions. I am pleased that the House has taken this important pro-life step that restores power to state governments, and I am looking forward to President Trump signing it into law."
