Washington D.C. - Congressman Lamborn managed a Special Order on the House floor this week celebrating National Bible Week.
This year marks the 78th anniversary of the National Bible Week declaration that President Franklin D. Roosevelt announced just weeks before the United States entered World War II. Every year since, the week of Thanksgiving has hosted a series of celebrations recognizing the spiritual and historical significance of the Bible. Congressman Lamborn and several other Members of Congress expressed the deep impact that the Bible has had on their lives.
Amid an increasingly divided culture, and as we reflect on the Thanksgiving holiday, let us come together to celebrate this Holy Book that has fundamentally shaped our great nation's history and provides guidance and comfort to the lives of so many. Let us also give thanks that we live in a country where we enjoy the freedom of worship and the freedom to read the Holy Bible without fear of persecution.
