A Thanksgiving Message from Congressman Lamborn
Washington, Nov 25, 2008 -
Washington, DC - As Thanksgiving 2008 draws near, it is fitting that we pause to reflect on the many blessings the Good Lord has provided this year.
We have participated in an historic presidential election and look forward to another peaceful transfer of power in January.
I am mindful that many in our country are understandably anxious about the economy and their personal financial wellbeing. These are difficult times for the many homeowners whose home values are dropping. As a nation we face serious fiscal challenges which we cannot ignore.
But, I believe we can overcome those challenges and restore faith to our free markets. One of America’s greatest strengths is the ingenuity of its workers. They will adapt and emerge stronger having overcome tough times.
America is still a nation at war and we pray for the safety of our men and women in uniform.
Personally, since being elected in 2006, I have thanked the Lord each day for the privilege of representing more than 600,000 Coloradans from the beautiful Fifth Congressional District. My family and I are grateful for your prayers on our behalf. We have learned so much from you and appreciate your friendship and support.
This Thanksgiving I encourage you to not only thank God for your family, friends and good health, but for our country and those who are spending their Thanksgiving fighting for our freedom abroad.
We owe those brave men and women and their families a debt of gratitude that we will never be able to repay. It is because of their sacrifice that Coloradans and all Americans can gather around the table in peace this year to celebrate Thanksgiving with their family, friends and loved ones.
