Voting NO on the Omnibus Spending Bill

December 18, 2015
Press Release

Congressman Doug Lamborn issued the following statement after his vote against the 2016 Omnibus Spending Bill:

"In a year-end omnibus spending bill, there are always a variety of good and bad provisions crammed into a multi-thousand page bill. In this instance, the bad outweighs the good. The bill does very little to advance the efforts to defund Obamacare and Planned Parenthood, to rein in the Environmental Protection Agency, to stop the President's unconstitutional executive amnesty, or to reform our flawed refugee resettlement program.

I worked hard throughout the year to make real and impactful change on these vital issues. I have pushed for numerous conservative pieces of legislation designed to change the way we do business in Washington DC. Because we serve in a divided government, the other side gets a say in the final result. We must find a way to overcome all obstacles to turn our government around."
