Washington, D.C. - Congressman Lamborn chaired two House Armed Service Strategic Forces Subcommittee hearings regarding the United States’ strategic forces military posture, and discussing U.S. and adversarial hypersonic capabilities. As the first member from Colorado to hold the Chairmanship of this subcommittee, Congressman Lamborn outlined the following priorities: fielding advanced hypersonic weapon systems, fully funding our nuclear modernization program, advancing our missile defenses to outpace our foreign adversaries, and strengthening our national security space programs.

“I am honored to re-introduce the Taylor Force Martyr Payment Prevention Act today, alongside Senator Cotton. Our bill seeks to prevent any financial benefit these terrorists are promised for murdering innocent civilians by penalizing foreign banks that allow these ‘pay to slay’ transactions to occur unimpeded. I am pleased that this bill has already garnered bipartisan support in the House of Representatives. I will never waver in the fight to bring justice to the Force family and all those who have been victims of these horrific crimes,” said Congressman Lamborn.

Congressman Doug Lamborn has led provisions throughout his time on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) that equate to more than $3 billion for the Pikes Peak Region. The number of provisions he led or co-led has increased each year that he has served on HASC as he has gained increased seniority. In Fiscal Year (FY) 2023, at least 30 provisions he led or co-led were included in the final NDAA that was signed into law by the President.

These Coloradans have demonstrated remarkable talent, work ethic, academic success, and a deep commitment to patriotism and service.  "As Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee’s Strategic Forces Subcommittee, and representative of five military installations, I understand the importance of having qualified, dedicated individuals attending these esteemed academies as they will become the next generation of military leadership. I congratulate all those who went through the application and interview process and wish these young men and women the best as they continue through the final stages of the appointment process. "I am grateful for the many defense, business, and community leaders that served on my Academy nomination board. I thank them for their time and commitment to reviewing applications, scoring, and conducting nearly one-hundred interviews."

"I am saddened by the tragic loss of Fountain Police K-9 Officer and Air Force veteran Julian Becerra who succumbed to his injuries tonight after falling from a bridge in Colorado Springs during an on-duty pursuit. Officer Becerra died a hero, protecting his community. I ask all of Colorado and the nation to pray for our law enforcement officers and their families."

As a senior member and Vice Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, I have consistently pushed for the preservation of our public lands and wild areas while simultaneously unlocking American energy independence. Unfortunately, under Democratic rule, commonsense proposals have been put on the back burner at the expense of the American taxpayer under Democratic reign. I am writing to walk you through a few of my top priorities this Congress so that people know what to expect from a Republican-led House Natural Resources majority.
