"Despite support from a bipartisan majority in both chambers of Congress, the president has vetoed a Senate Resolution overturning the EPA's "waters of the United States rule." The WOTUS rule harms local communities, kills job growth, and strangles states' ability to regulate their own waters by inserting the federal government into every stream, pond, and ditch in America--even on private property. The president's veto is yet another example of his strategy to bypass Congress and instead use executive overreach to disrupt the lives of ordinary citizens. I maintain that states, not the federal government, should control the right to regulate their own waters, and I will continue to support efforts to override the president's veto."
