Representative Doug Lamborn (CO-05) released the following statement:
"I join the nation and my home state of Colorado in honoring the life and sacrifice of Army Sgt. 1st Class Mihail Golin. The 10th Special Forces Group Soldier from Fort Carson, Colorado will be laid to rest at Arlington with full honors today. In Colorado, all flags today are at half-staff in his honor. I extend my deepest condolences to his family and my grateful appreciation for his service to the nation.
Sergeant Golin immigrated to the U.S. from Riga, Latvia, at age 20 and followed a dream to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. He was tragically killed during operations in Afghanistan on Jan 1. He is survived by his daughter and parents. I encourage all Americans to remember the sacrifice of our service members in uniform today."
